Zlatan Ibrahimovic ended his career.
Right after, Sandro Tonali came forward with a question.
Afterwards, the Milan star burst into tears.
There were emotional scenes to say the least after Milan’s season finale at the San Siro. There had previously been speculation that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would say goodbye and continue his career elsewhere, but that did not happen.
Great role model
Instead, the Swede took to the pitch, spoke straight from the heart to the Milan fans – and announced that he is ending his career. After more than 20 years as a professional, it’s over, and Swedish football’s greatest player of all time is giving thanks. And now new, unknown details about the farewell have arrived. Milan released a new film this week where you could follow Ibrahimovic before, during and after the farewell to the fans.
In the video, among other things, the sons Maximilian and Vincent appear, and it is an obviously nervous and emotional Ibrahimovic, who walks around the tunnels at San Siro. But the very best moment in the farewell, and in the film, comes in the dressing room afterwards, with teammate Sandro Tonali. The midfield star has told many times about what an idol Zlatan has been for him.

Emotional moment
Tonali, who is 19 years younger than Ibrahimovic, approached his idol after the farewell, holding an Ibrahimovic shirt, and asked for an autograph. Tonali stood with tears in his eyes already out on the field, and when he asks for the autograph, he can’t hold back the tears. After Ibrahimovic signed the shirt, they both meet in an emotional hug.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic may not have played as much as he would have liked since returning to Milan, but he has been praised for his exceptional leadership qualities, and this is certainly the ultimate proof of that. Talk about being a true role model, for so many. Respect!
