Surveillance footage from Iran shows two women with their hair uncovered being attacked by a man – who throws yogurt at them. All three must have been arrested after the incident. It all happened in Iran’s second largest city, Masshad. The yoghurt-attacking man is said to have been arrested for disorderly conduct, but the two attacked women, mother and daughter, have also been arrested precisely because they did not wear a covering headgear. Since last fall, tens of thousands of Iranian women have protested against the requirement to cover their hair with a veil. Watch the attack in the player above.
