A jury has declared the man who last October broke into former US Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Francisco guilty.
According to the jury, the now 43-year-old man pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping of a federal official with the purpose of holding her hostage and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official.
The jury deliberated for about eight hours.
Wanted to “smash her kneecaps”
The man has admitted during the trial that he wanted to kidnap the Democrat Nancy Pelosi and “smash her kneecaps” because she was the “leader of the scum”.
He also admitted to beating Pelosi’s then 82-year-old husband Paul Pelosi with a hammer when the police arrived. The authorities have now released the images that show when the 43-year-old goes on the attack.
Paul Pelosi has testified about the incident in the trial and told how he was awakened by “a large man” breaking into the couple’s bedroom and asking where Nancy Pelosi was. When he replied that she was in Washington DC, the attacker said he would tie up Paul Pelosi and they would both wait for her.
