Here, the fish are filmed and counted at the power plant in Linköping

The camera is located in the so-called fauna passage at the entrance to the Tekniska verken hydropower plant. The counter uses advanced camera technology combined with artificial intelligence that identifies and measures the fish that pass by.

– The fish that come downstream from Roxen must somehow get into Stångån and then they have to pass this camera. Then we film them and then we get statistics and can do an analysis, says Jakob Bergengren, fisheries biologist and environmental engineer at the Technical Works

Want aspen up to Tannefors

The asp carp is endangered and now one of the fish species that is carefully studied using the camera tunnel.

– We will try to get it up from Roxen in Stångån so that it can swim up to Tannefors and play there on prepared playgrounds, downstream of the Tannefors power station. And it has passed, notes Jakob Bergengren.
