Surveillance images show how the foyer in an apartment building in Grimsta in northwest Stockholm is completely destroyed on the night of January 2. A famous rapper was arrested in connection with the incident but was later released.

Since the murder in Rinkeby in western Stockholm on Christmas Day, a series of acts of violence have occurred in the Stockholm area. One of the more noticed acts is the one that occurred on January 2 in Grimsta in northwest Stockholm.

Among other things, when two of the country’s most popular rappers were linked to the incident. One of them was arrested, but later written off completely, suspect and – the other was heard as a possible target.

The rapper denies involvement

– We know that there is a high level of conflict between several of the criminal groups that exist in the county. During the year, we have also arrested several whistleblowers, made large drug seizures and seized weapons from the criminal environment, says Max Åkerwall, deputy commanding officer at the police in the Stockholm region.

In addition to the well-known rapper, three other people were also arrested in the police’s investigation regarding public destruction. When the rap artist was released again, he himself chose to publish a post on social media – where he writes that he has nothing to do with the incident.

Which prosecutor Liselott Nilsson confirms.

– All suspicions against that person have been written off, she says.

“Very serious”

The rapper who lives at the address is said to have said in questioning that he has no knowledge that any person would wish him ill. The investigation continues and a full technical analysis of the large seizure that was taken from the scene is still awaited.

– It is a very serious crime and it is only a coincidence that no one was injured and the investigation continues. We have not received an answer to all the technical analysis and whether it can be linked to any person, says Liselott Nilsson.
