Moose hunting is underway in several parts of the country. But you don’t actually have to shoot real moose to get some action in this life.
At Ängslunda’s day activities for the elderly, it is “moose hunting”, with toy guns.
– You experience old memories, I have hunted before, says Erik Persson.
In Arbrå in Bollnäs municipality, the pensioners are ready for hunting. With moose passes, buns and coffee, they get ready to take on the moose. And so it comes, made of fabric and cardboard, and with four strong legs that trot forward. And suddenly it bangs!
– Just aim and shoot, with a steady hand, says Erik Persson.
The shot “moose”, in fact disguised staff, descends in front of the happy pensioner-hunters. What a hit!
– It’s very nice to come here and meet others and break the isolation at home! says Lonnie Alen Öhrström, and continues:
– And we get some good food too.
Moose theme all week
It is “moose themed” at Ängslunda’s day activities in Arbrå throughout the week. The guns are loaded and the coffee is brewed. And a little rain is nothing to dampen the mood.
– The staff has worked so hard! They have started an activity room, with activities for us, says Lonnie Alen Öhrström.
The question then is which of the staff acts as a moose in honor of the day?
– We don’t gossip about that, laughs Lonny Alen Öhrström.
The “moose” stands up
The hit “moose” first lies completely still. But it turns out to be a real tough guy who gets up again! And hunters can soon continue shooting with their Nerf guns.
– I think it’s a lot of fun to come here and stay here. And talk to the staff and everything, says Erik Persson.
