Here, the drug lords in Peru are caught – by Santa Claus

A Peruvian police group used a police officer in disguise to infiltrate an unsafe neighborhood outside the capital city of Lima.

Santa, meaning the police, broke in through a house door with a big sledgehammer. Instead of offering Christmas cheer, Santa and his colleagues arrested two men suspected of selling cocaine and marijuana. The police also seized hundreds of packages of cocaine paste and marijuana.

– The strategy was successful, states police chief Walter Palomino.

The South American country is one of the world’s largest producers of cocaine. Police in Peru have for several years used disguises during operations like this. For example, on Halloween, the police dressed up according to the scary theme and arrested two members of another drug gang.
