Here the Danish royal couple arrives in Stockholm

The two-day visit, which began on Monday, is the very first state visit that King Frederik and Queen Mary have made as new royals.

At 10 o’clock on Monday morning, they arrived at Skeppsholmen aboard the royal sloop Vasaorden. Also on board were Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

Carl-Henrik is one of many spectators who made it to Skeppsholmen to welcome the Danish couple. But what he hopes for the most is to get a glimpse of the Swedish royal couple, and the crown princess couple.

– I had a little time to spare so I came here. It’s fun to see, I think, says Carl-Henrik to TV4 Nyheternas reporter on the spot.

– I think it is good for the relationship between the countries, he continues.

Meeting with the Prime Minister

Monday’s schedule includes lunch at the castle with the Swedish royal couple, a meeting with the Speaker and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M).

During the afternoon, the two royal couples will visit the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), where they will, among other things, meet the Swedish astronauts Christer Fuglesang and Marcus Wandt, as well as their Danish counterpart Andreas Mogensen. The evening ends with a gala dinner at the castle.

There are close family ties between the Danish and Swedish royal houses and Frederik X and Crown Princess Victoria are siblings.

Frederik X became King of Denmark on January 15 when his mother, Queen Margrethe, abdicated and left the throne to him.
