He has played with several world stars.
Now Maniche has picked out his dream elf.
And at the forefront is the choice of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Maniche has been one of Portugal’s biggest stars since the turn of the millennium. The midfielder has represented several big clubs such as Chelsea, Inter and Atletico Madrid, and played both the World Cup and the European Championships with Portugal.
Became CL champion
But the biggest merit is undoubtedly the Champions League victory in 2004 with Porto. The club shocked everyone when they won the biggest trophy you can win at club team level, where they beat Sir Alex’s Manchester United in the playoffs.
After the historic moment, Porto’s team split. José Mourinho left for Chelsea and took with him several of the players who salvaged the title. But Maniche finished another season before ending up in Dynamo Moscow, which was the starting shot for several years outside the borders of his homeland.
Zlatan takes his place in the dream elf
Chelsea, Inter and Atletico Madrid are some of the clubs he represented, which means that Maniche played with several world stars. And now the midfielder has been asked to pick out the best he has played with during his career, and there Zlatan – who Maniche played with in Inter – takes his place among several really big football names.
Maniche chooses the form of play 4-3-3 and Zlatan is flanked by two of Portugal’s greatest – namely Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The whole eleven: Vitor Baia; Paulo Ferreira, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, Javier Zanetti; Frank Lampard, Claude Makelele, Deco; Luis Figo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo.
