During Monday, the second day of Easter was celebrated among the Orthodox Christians, who follow the Julian calendar. Hundreds of people visited the cemeteries in Södertälje.
– We are here to honor those who are no longer among us. I visit my mother and father’s grave, says Tina Bakircioglu.
During the day, priests from the Syriac Orthodox Church walk among the graves and pray for the dead. Many families share memories of those who are no longer alive.
– I wasn’t alive when my grandfather was around, but my mother has told me what a fantastic and happy person he was, says Tibelya Mousa.
