It started as a routine matter – but ended with a broken back and a flight that the policeman will soon forget.
Now a 29-year-old man is sentenced to five years in prison after the dramatic incident, which was caught on police cameras.
When the policeman Patrick McCarthy, stationed in Iowa in the USA, ordered a wanted 29-year-old man to stop his car, he had no idea that he would soon be lying in the road.
But the situation took a completely new turn when the wanted man refused to stop the car.
“Stop the damn car”
The whole dramatic process is picked up by the police cameras, and shows how McCarthy jumps on the hood with the weapon drawn and shouts “stop the damn car” – at the same time as the driver presses the gas and the crew travels forward at a speed of up to 80 kilometers per hour.
The crazy car ride ends with the car plunging into a ditch, whereupon the policeman is thrown away and badly injures his back.
The incident, which took place in March 2021, was resolved this week when the 29-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison.
