Here the brothers are reunited – after the shipwreck in the Mediterranean

Hundreds of migrants are missing after the boat accident off Greece on Wednesday.
Many of them are feared to have drowned – but 18-year-old Mohammad survived and has been reunited with his older brother.
– Calm down, we are with you. You are here now, we will take care of you, says an aid worker.

A Syrian man found his little brother among the survivors of the shipwreck in Greece. Fadi, who came from the Netherlands, embraced his 18-year-old brother Mohammad through the gates of the port city of Kalamata, where survivors of the deadly shipwreck have been brought ashore.

With tears in his throat, Fadi said that his younger brother had been in Libya for almost two years before he was forced to cancel the interview.

– Sorry, sorry, says Fadi.

The death toll is expected to rise

At least 78 migrants have been confirmed dead in the shipwreck off the Greek coast on Wednesday. Hopes of finding more survivors are dwindling fast for the hundreds of people still missing.

According to information, between 400 and 750 people were on the fishing boat that capsized and sank in deep water, about 80 km from the southern coastal town of Pylos.

On Friday, Greek authorities announced that 104 survivors had been brought ashore. Many of them have been transferred to a migrant camp on Friday.
