Here, the 22-year-old shows how he stabbed the intruders to death – see the police film

The man is woken up in the middle of the night by four people breaking into his apartment. He kills two of the intruders with a knife – in what he describes as self-defense but which the prosecutor considers to be murder. TV4 Nyheterna can now show the police reconstruction film of the dramatic event. During Friday, the trial against the 22-year-old man who is accused of double murder in Ulricehamn last autumn ends. The drama unfolded at 01:00 on September 14. The 22-year-old man and his girlfriend were sleeping when they heard someone pull on the front door and ring the doorbell several times. A little later, four men break into the apartment. – I acted to protect myself and my girlfriend in self-defense, says the 22-year-old in questioning. Bloody handprints One of the most important points at the trial has been when the court was shown a reconstruction film of the night. The accused man was given the opportunity to show how the burglary ended with him stabbing the two people to death. A forensic technician wearing a protective suit plays the role of the two dead today – and is directed by the 22-year-old inside his apartment. The man is wearing the green clothing of the Correctional Service. Bloody handprints are visible on the walls and the kitchen floor is covered in blood trails that lead out into the hall. “Trying to survive” According to his own statement, the man ran into the kitchen and there took a hunting knife and stabbed the perpetrators. He says he’s “just trying to survive”. The two perpetrators were stabbed in the commotion. Prosecutor Martin Svensson does not question whether the man acted as a last resort, but believes that the 21-year-old used excessive force. – In summary, the apartment owner found himself in an emergency situation and thus had the right to defend himself. However, my view is that the violence he used was clearly indefensible and he should also not be exempted from responsibility due to so-called emergency defense excess, he says and concludes: – In an overall assessment, I believe that the intentional killing is to be considered as less serious and have therefore labeled it as two cases of manslaughter. The legal expert Jens Lapidus, who watched the reconstruction film in its entirety, does not think that one should go to emergency defense excess for it to be seen as an irresponsible act. – I think so for several reasons, but there are some central parts in his story and if they are supported by the girl or by other evidence, it becomes even stronger, he says, referring to the 22-year-old’s description that there were no course of action to take away from the apartment. – The initial attack is also very serious where several people enter the apartment in the middle of the night and attack him with violence. It raises the threshold for which emergency protection you can resort to. He believes that the 22-year-old will be acquitted, unless the autopsy report or the forensic report speaks for something that could change the picture of the incident. The prosecutor: Should be sentenced to seven years in prison The trial took place in Borås District Court and on Friday the prosecutor presented his demands. The 22-year-old man who is suspected of murder and drug offenses should be sentenced to seven years in prison, according to prosecutor Marin Svensson. Of those who got into the apartment, a man in his 20s and a boy under the age of 18 are accused of, among other things, attempted aggravated robbery. A woman in her 20s stands accused on suspicion of aiding and abetting attempted aggravated robbery. See a part of the reconstruction film in the clip above.
