Out of nearly 45 students in the classes, only 10 students showed up at the end of school on Wednesday. The students have expressed great dissatisfaction at not being able to celebrate the end of school in the church. But despite extensive protests, the school management has stuck to its decision, so classrooms were empty during Thursday’s closing.
Despite that, education manager Fredrik Westerlund was satisfied:
– I think we have had a good day together.
It is the third year in a row that only the graduating students at Kyrkholm School are allowed to celebrate the end of school in the church.
One of the motivations from the school management is that the church can, among other things, be perceived as frightening for some students.
