Shortly before 1 p.m., the first train manned by SJ rolled onto the platform in Luleå. The arrival was estimated at 11:53, but problems with catenary lines on the section between Boden and Luleå resulted in a delay.
– These are trains that run over long distances in Sweden and then things like this sometimes happen, both we and the customers are quite used to it, says Kyrk.
The night trains between Stockholm and Luleå/Narvik were operated until today by Vy Tåg, which received sharp criticism from the Swedish Transport Administration after unannounced inspections by the authority.
The cleaning was not up to standard and now SJ promises improvement in the Swedish Transport Administration’s wagons.
– We have suggested that you rebuild the ventilation, look over the toilets and some other things that we have done on our own trains and we think that will make for a better journey, says Kyrk.
