On Friday, Serbian police raided a migrant tent camp after a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest in a clash with other migrants. Several people were arrested.
The incident occurred on Thursday in the town of Horgos, in northern Serbia. On surveillance video, police have seen several men armed with automatic weapons in the area.
More and more migrants have recently tried to go west through Serbia up to the Hungarian border. Those who can afford it use human smugglers to get there.
EU migration ministers gathered on Friday for a crisis meeting. Among other things on the agenda are the increasing flows of refugees across the Mediterranean.
