That Jewish and Arab students are in the same class is unusual in Israel, but not in the school “Oasis of peace” – where students have been in mixed classes since its inception in 1979.
Just over an hour away from the school is Gaza, and managing the war between Hamas and Israel when it began over a year ago was not easy.
– We stopped learning. Jews and Arabs stopped talking because of the problems, says Sally, who is in the 6th grade.
