The newspaper states, with reference to CNN, that local politicians have decided to introduce a special tax that will apply to all tourists who visit the city. From the middle of 2026, everyone who visits the capital and spent nights on everything from hotels and hostels to Bed and Breakfast, guesthouses and apartments to tax extra for this.

In total, this is five percent of the price for booking the accommodation itself that the tourists will have to pay in taxes. However, the new tax does not refer to the tourists who have booked more than five nights in the same place, they write.
