Here Ivar and Sixten test archery on archeology day

Archeology Day was observed in several places in Blekinge on Sunday. Among other things, Blekinge Museum held guided tours at the Hjortsberga cemetery and at the Hjortsberga church outside Johannishus.

Eight-year-old Sixten Fröbom was visiting with his family from Karlshamn.

– It’s fun to know what happened before 2023.

Big brother Ivar Fröbom, 11, also likes history.

– It is interesting and exciting, he says.

Viking camp in Blekinge

Both brothers liked archery best and returned to the small shooting range several times.

The Viking association Blekingehirden was on site and had set up a small Viking camp where they displayed clothing, equipment, cooking and crafts.

– There is a great interest among people in the Viking Age and history, we have noticed, and it grows from year to year, says Per Johansson from Ronneby, who is a member of the association Blekingehirden.
