The last time all of Sweden was covered in snow on Christmas Eve was in 2018. That it will happen again this year may not seem so likely, but it is not impossible either.

There will be guaranteed snow here on Christmas Eve
In northern Norrland’s inland and mountain areas there is a lot of snow now, and it will remain so even on baptism day.
– Here it should generally stay at minus this week, says Sofia Söderbergmeteorologist at SMHI to News24.
Even in southern Norrland, the chances for a white Christmas look very good, although it is a bit uncertain along the coast in the Gävlet region.
– It is difficult to assess because there will be several plus degrees, wind and rain, says Sofia Söderberg.
How will it be south of Norrland then? Not easy to say, according to Sofia Söderberg.
– Will all the snow melt away? And if there is new snow, can it stay?
