Midsummer’s Eve can be warm and high-pressured, but it can also rain, according to SMHI.

— The forecast is highly uncertain as it concerns when a low-pressure wave that lies and ripples southwest of Sweden grows over the country. The low pressure wave has not yet decided, but it is coming, says Angelica Lundberg, meteorologist at SMHI.

Greatest chance of fine weather on Midsummer Eve

The best chance for a sunny midsummer celebration with higher temperatures is on the west coast, Skåne and Småland. There, according to SMHI, it will be sunny and 20–23 degrees.

But already during the night towards Midsummer’s Day, the low pressure from the south-west comes in with rain and lower temperatures. During Saturday, the low pressure moves north over the rest of the country.

— In northern Sweden, the weather on Midsummer’s Eve will be as it is right now, around 15 degrees with occasional showers. A little warmer towards the coasts, says Angelica Lundberg.

But since the forecast is still uncertain, there is hope for sun and warmth for the weekend.
