Here it will be high summer heat on Midsummer Eve

Midsummer Eve is only nine days away.
The whole of the long weekend also looks set to be warm, according to the latest long-term forecast.
– It will actually be hot in the height of summer, up to 25, 26 degrees, says TV4’s meteorologist Peter Kondrup.

There is currently a heat wave in Sweden and Wednesday looks set to be the hottest day of the year, perhaps with temperatures of over 29 degrees.

The heat also looks set to stick around for a while and extend over the midsummer weekend, although it is expected to be slightly cooler over the coming week.

It is expected to be over 20 degrees across almost the entire country – and it looks like it will be the hottest in the southeast.

– It looks like it will be quite typical summer weather, or even slightly warmer. In the south-east it actually gets hot in the height of summer, up to 25, 26 degrees, says Peter Kondrup.

Can get even hotter – after midsummer

The latest forecast, which extends ten days ahead, shows alternating cloudiness in the country and sunny along the coasts. The heat looks set to not only stay over midsummer – but even a bit over the long weekend.

– It might even get even hotter after midsummer, which in and of itself is very uncertain.

The warm weather is not only positive and the risk of forest fires remains high.

– In the southern part of the country, it is even extremely large. You have to be very careful if you’re going out for a barbecue this weekend or during the Midsummer weekend, says Peter Kondrup.
