The weekend has offered mild weather over much of the country, which seems to last to the week to come.
During the first days of the week, the mild air continues to flow in, according to TV4’s meteorologist Peter Kondrup. In several parts of Götaland and Svealand, the temperature can rise to ten degrees.
– During Thursday, it is real spring heat that flows over us with healthy western winds. If the sun only turns out enough, it can be between 10 and 15 degrees in Götaland and Svealand, he says.
High pressure back provides warm temperatures
On Sunday, this year’s hottest temperature was measured so far, in Gladhammar in Småland, where it was 11.6 degrees. For the week, however, temperatures seem to rise even more. At its warmest, it seems to be in the eastern parts of Götaland and Svealand.
– But Värmland and Gästrikland also get 13-14 degrees, says Peter Kondrup.
On Friday, a high -pressure ridge is reinforced over the country’s southern parts, which means sunny days with temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees, according to Kondrup.
– But it will be chilly nights with local frost, he says.
Can become cooler further ahead
Over northern Sweden, some rainfall areas will pass, which bring with it rain or snow at the farthest north.
Later on, in the week thereafter, the forecast becomes uncertain. Then there can again be lower temperatures with northern winds, according to Kondrup.
On Monday, SMHI announced that spring had come to Sweden, after temperatures above zero degrees were measured for seven days in succession at three weather stations. Since Thursday, spring is expected to have come to Stockholm.
For the northernmost parts of the country, however, spring can take a while.
– There are mountain stations up in Lapland where spring normally arrives as late as the end of May, says meteorologist Emma Härenstam to TT.
