In November 2022, the company began printing the houses in Georgetown, Texas, a few miles outside of Austin in the American South. The 100 homes will soon be ready.
It is the walls that are printed, and the job is done by an almost 14 meter wide and almost 5 ton heavy 3D printer.
Progress
Compared to traditional construction, the company behind the project says that 3D printing houses is faster, cheaper, requires fewer workers.
Several companies and organizations worldwide are interested in 3D technology for building houses. A school has been built in Lviv, Ukraine, and Florida boasts a horse stable, the largest 3D-printed building in the world.
