The main character, detective Sara Michaels, comes to the city of Dirt Town and on the spot she unearths much more than expected.

The selected ones are written from a small town perspective in Sweden. In 1994, a brutal murder takes place in a community outside Halmstad. The murderer is convicted and goes to prison, and you then have to follow how it affects society. Above all, it is written from the perspective of a small child and raises questions about heritage and the environment.

Farthest in the forest by Marie Hermanson

This is a standalone sequel to the acclaimed book “Plague”. It takes place in Gothenburg at the end of the 20th century. A nanny cooks her child to the Museum of Natural History. A little girl who runs away and that night she disappears without a trace. To solve the case, the police officer Nils and the journalist Ellen are involved.

Pigfest by Leif GW Persson

This is GW’s first novel of his to come out in the 70’s. The book follows two police officers who begin to investigate an anonymous tip that leads them to two murders. During the investigation, they discover that the clues point to high positions within the city apparatus and the security police. Their attempts to solve the case are hampered by powerful forces working against them

The Shards by Brett Easton Ellis

The story follows a 17-year-old boy who is in his last year of high school. He and his friends are looking forward to finishing school and going out into the world. Their lives are turned upside down when a new, charismatic student enters the class. The writers sense that something is wrong with the new guy, while a serial killer begins to wreak havoc on the town and draws ever closer to their circle of friends.
