According to a Gambettes box study, 5 is the rating that French women give themselves when it comes to talking about self-confidence and body image.
Gambettes box is interested in a subject that concerns us all: Self-confidence ! And more particularly body confidence by questioning a international panel (Netherlands, Germany, France) composed of more than 5,500 tights box subscribers on their body, their complexes and their image. Here is what emerges.
A barometer to assess self-confidence
At a time when social networks are an integral part of our life, the Gambettes box barometer reveals that they influence the representation of the female body at 18%, behind advertising at 19% and television and the big screen at 20%. Still according to the study, it appears that the older we get, the more we would be at peace with our body. In fact, women aged 50 and over admit that they no longer compare themselves as much as they did before, whereas 53% of women between 18 and 29 often compare themselves and don’t feel so good about themselves.
French women and their bodies
When it comes to talking about self-confidence, French women are the most severe with their bodies. They give themselves a score of 5 (on a scale of 1 to 10) while the Dutch give themselves 5.8 and the Germans 6.4. While all women have more or less important complexes, Gambettes box was interested in those of French women concerning a part of the body in particular: the legs. Results ? 44% of them find that they do not have thin enough thighs, the presence of cellulite is disturbing for 40% and small imperfections (scars, pimples, bruises or spots) make 18% of French women complex. However, this does not prevent 77% of them from showing their legs when they want to, especially thanks to the tights!
