Here is the parking lot that “competes” to be Sweden’s ugliest

During the autumn, the municipality collected Uppsala residents’ opinions about Fyristorg. It is clear that the car park takes up too much space and that one would rather see another use of the area. Many Uppsala residents want the place to continue to be designed for meeting, meeting and socializing.

– We need to think about how we can get the most city life for as many people as possible, says city gardener Elisabet Jonsson.

Construction site 2025

Now a project team will be put together for the reconstruction and next year the work will begin to develop a proposal for what the new area will look like. In 2025, the excavators and work on the reconstruction should have started if everything goes as planned.

– Next year, we want you as a resident of Uppsala to provide input on a proposal that we will develop and that will be under construction in 2025, says Elisabet Jonsson.

Greener on Fyristorget

There are already several lime trees on Fyristorget and these need to be reviewed when the place will be remodeled. The lindens are doing well and contribute a lot to the place. Therefore, the municipality is also no stranger to the fact that there may be an increase in vegetation on Fyristorget when the area is rebuilt.
