Unveiled during the Nintendo Direct on February 9, 2022, the DLC pack including 48 “new” (the quotes are important) circuits for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is revealed a little more thanks to these new images that Nintendo has just shared. We have known this since the announcement, but it is still useful to specify it, all of the 48 additional routes will be deployed gradually, between tomorrow and the end of 2023. This is obviously a trick very clever on the part of Nintendo to make us patiently wait until the release of Mario Kart 9, still under development. As a result, starting tomorrow, it will be possible to have fun with the first wave including the Golden Turbo Cup and the Maneki-neko Cup. Those who have played previous Mario Karts will recognize the escalators and shops of Coconut Supermarket (Wii), the falling rocks of Choco Mountain (N64), the crowds of spectators at Circuit Toad (3DS), the big clouds the Flying Garden (GBA), and the particularly heavy traffic of the Corniche Champignon (DS). And icing on the cake, it will be possible to try circuits from Mario Kart Tour that are the Crossing of Tokyo, the Promenade in Paris and the Dojo ninja.
We remind you that these new circuits are paid for, but that it is possible to obtain the 6 waves of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe additional circuits pass at no additional cost thanks to a Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack subscription, which is equivalent to a subscription at €39.99 per year. Otherwise, the classic pass, without an online subscription, will cost you €24.99. It is up to you to make your choice.
