Now the table tennis legend is making a long-awaited comeback in the television box.
When a new picture reveals the brand new job for the ball genius JO.

During his active career so charmed Jan-Ove Waldner all with their fantastic and very special ball talent. He broke through at an early age and would become one of the very best ever in the world of table tennis.

Waldner’s greatness

The icon became a hit with the entire Swedish people and transformed our country into a great power that demolished the “Great Wall of China” and broke China’s complete dominance in table tennis. But with Waldner in the lead and many more talented table tennis players, the eyes instead turned to little Sweden.

Jan-Ove Waldner had both the talent and the personality to make him a real superstar and to this day he is a huge celebrity on the streets of China. There was a total of one Olympic gold, six World Cup gold, eleven European Championship gold and two World Cup titles for the Swedish ball genius during his successful career.

JO’s new job

On February 11, 2016, JO played his very last ping pong match and thus ended a long career that lasted from the beginning of the 80s. Since then, we have seen the legend in various television contexts and recently he appeared on “An evening for Börje” where he showed against the hockey icons Mats Sundin and Nicklas Lidström.

But now Waldner has got a completely new job and is returning to the television screen again. The Viaplay commentator Niklas Holmgren has published a picture on social media, see it below, where he proudly shows off his new colleague – when JO got a job as a TV expert during the ongoing table tennis World Cup.
“Hello there! Now it’s the ping-pong World Cup from 11.00 every day on Viaplay. With “The Eternal Green Tree” (JO), serve specialist Pär Gerell, racket equilibrist Peter Jihde and little me… Good medal chances for Sweden,” Holmgren writes on Twitter along with the picture, see below.
