Here is THE girls name that will be on top

The top first names were recently revealed for the year 2025. But one first name already stands out for the following year among little girls, according to Stéphanie Rapoport, author of the Official First Names.

The most trendy first names for the year 2025 were revealed on the occasion of the release of the book “The official first names” published at the beginning of September by First editions. Thus, little Ambre and Louise, Alba, Jade and even Emma appear in the top 5 female names, while the most assigned male first names for 2025 will undoubtedly be Gabriel, Raphaël, Léo, Maël and Louis. According to Stéphanie Rapoport, one of the authors of this bible of first names, a feminine first name is already standing out for the next few years to come. “This feminine first name has every chance of entering the top 10 in 2026,” she tells us.

It is an original first name of Arabic origin, meaning “concern and attention”, which continues to climb. This is also the first name that the singer Soprano chose for his little daughter born in July 2007. As for his other children Luna and Lenny, the Marseille rapper dedicated a song to her, in which he reveals his happiness at being a father and the sacrifices he is willing to make to raise him in the best conditions.

Since then, the first name Inaya has enjoyed real success: 86 births were recorded in 2007, 234 Inaya in 2008, and “two years later, the first name crossed the symbolic bar of 1000 annual allocations” confirms the Official First Names (First editions). It is also the 65th most given female first name in France since the year 2000. Today, it is given to almost one in 175 girls.

This original first name plays on the trend of “ia” endings and juxtapositions of vowels“, explain the authors of the book Stéphanie Rapoport and Claire Tabarly Perrin who add that this first name has established itself, for the first time in 2020, among the most popular first names in the capital (in the top 50).
