Head coach of the Finnish women’s national football team Marko Saloranta has named the team for the EC qualifiers.
Compared to the May-June EC qualifying group, the goalkeeper returns to the team Anna Tamminen and midfielder Emmi Alanen. A 19-year-old defender playing in HJK was added to the team as a completely new name Helmi Raijas.
Helmarit continues the EC qualifiers in the form of decisive matches against Norway and Italy. Finland will face Norway in Turku on July 12 and Italy in the final match of the group stage in Bolzano on July 16.
Finland started its European Championship qualification at the beginning of April. The team lost their opening match against Norway, but beat Italy at home.
Finland lost their away match against the Netherlands in May, but played a 1-1 draw in the home match in Tampere in front of a full Tammela stadium.
Having collected seven points, the Netherlands leads the qualifying group, Norway and Italy have five points and Finland four points.
