The fabric consists of a mixture of so-called “polymeric optical fibers” (POF), which is a type of fiber optics, and ordinary textile thread. With the help of, among other things, simple hand gestures, you can make the fabric change color.
– When you touch it, it feels just like any ordinary fabric, says Jeanne Tan, the leader of the research team AiDLab that created the fabric.
