The campsite brought in 123 million

Today is Johan and Mona’s daughter Anna Barkevall CEO of Böda Sand. The campsite has 1,350 campsites and 125 cabins with space for as many as 10,000 guests – 7,000 residents and 3,000 visitors for the day.

News24 has previously written about Böda Sand’s assets, and saw that the campsite’s business took off after covid-19. After 2021, the campsite had an annual turnover of just over 123 million.

In 2024, Böda Sand, together with 13 other campsites, was named one of Sweden’s best campsites by SCR Svensk Camping.

– Swedish tourists come here instead of going to Greece or Thailand, says Anna Barkevall in an interview with Aftonbladet.

It is not only Swedish tourists who visit Böda Sand. Tourists from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands also fill the campsite during the summer.

Böda Sand has gone from being a traditional campsite to a place with an Ica store, beach club and spa and more.

– It’s like a small town. It has been a journey to go from camping to holiday resort, to where we are today, says Barkevall to the newspaper.

Barkevall has no plans to stop developing Böda Sand.
