Stina Nilsson has had a very tough season so far.
And has had to fight hard during his third season as a biathlete.
But now comes the great news for the Swede.
Three years ago left Stina Nilsson cross-country skiing as one of the world’s leading sports. Now she is in the middle of her third season as a biathlete and the question is whether it has been the toughest so far.
Nilsson poked
The Swede gained a lot of confidence at the World Cup during the winter, but the results were not forthcoming and the form curve pointed downwards instead of upwards. Lack of results led to Nilsson being first poked from the World Cup and then also from the Swedish WC squad.

Instead, the Swede has recently had to focus on the IBU Cup, the level below the World Cup. During the Biathlon World Cup, a hatch was then opened up when Elvira Öberg fell ill, but even that time the 29-year-old was not called up as a reserve.

Stina’s joy
The reason was that Stina also fell ill and could not fly in to the WC in Oberhof, Germany. The illness also caused the Swede to miss the season finale of the IBU Cup in North America.

But now comes the big happy news for Stina Nilsson after the tough season and all the setbacks. Now she gets to make a long-awaited comeback at the World Cup again.
Swedish support
When the Swedish national skiing team announces the squad for the World Cup competition in Nova Mesto, Stina Nilsson’s name is included as one of six female skiers. In recent days, the biathlete has been training at home in Östersund and recently published a picture on Instagram where she received plenty of support from the Swedish people.
“You don’t dislike sunshine. But it’s old after all,” writes Stina Nilsson in connection with the picture.
