Striking developments continue to occur in the Russia-Ukraine war, which started on February 24 at the instruction of Vladimir Putin. Remarkable allegations were made about Russia’s plans in the cities captured during the occupation.
The British Ministry of Defense shared the developments regarding the latest situation in the Ukraine-Russia war. In the statement made by the ministry, it was stated that Russia plans to hold a referendum in Kherson, as in Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk. The statement also claimed that Russia appointed a mayor to the city of Melitopol.
The following statements were used in the statement made by the British Ministry of Defense:
“Many protests were held in the Russian-occupied cities of Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk within a few days. Reports state that Russia plans to hold a referendum in Kherson in an attempt to legitimize the region as a separatist republic similar to Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. Russian forces reportedly fired warning shots to disperse peaceful protesters.”
“RUSSIA APPOINTED MAYOR OF MELİTOPOL”
Following the allegations that the Ukrainian mayor was kidnapped in Melitopol, the statement that Russia appointed its own mayor continued as follows:
“Russia reportedly appointed its own mayor of Melitopol on Friday, March 11th. Later, it was reported that the Mayor of Dniprorudne was also kidnapped by Russian forces. It looks like Russia will make more attempts to subvert Ukrainian democracy as it tries to take political control of Ukraine.” (DHA)
