Janne Andersson has finished with a new job – “team captain” for the Children’s Cancer Foundation’s team.
“A fantastic offer,” he says.
Former captain of the men’s national team Jan Andersson announced last week that he had a new job lined up.
“Probably, if everything falls into place, it will be ready next week,” he said on the Fotbollsmorgon podcast.
Andersson’s “new job” turned out to be more about a good deed. On Wednesday, the Children’s Cancer Foundation posted a video where Janne is presented as the “league captain”.

“A few weeks ago, I received an offer that I couldn’t refuse. A fantastic offer which meant that I would get to help develop a fairly young team, but with huge potential. It is about the BCF, i.e. the Children’s Cancer Fund’s law. I have had the honor of becoming the national team captain for that team during this year’s Soccer Jersey Friday, which starts on April 12,” he says.
Fotbollskanalen writes that Football Shirt Friday is a campaign from the Children’s Cancer Fund between April 7 and 12 where people are asked to wear their favorite team’s shirt.

Since Janne Andersson quit as Swedish national team captain last fall, he has been without an assignment. Earlier this year, it was reported that he was close to taking over the Latvian national team.
– I have received some concrete requests. Latvia was concrete and I was hungry, but it was a little too early, he said in Fotbollmorgon last week.
