Gomphus vulgatissimus is the Latin name for Halland’s dragonfly. Since the landscape has many watercourses, the conditions are good for dragonflies to thrive.
All three nominations for the landscape’s dragonfly are therefore linked to watercourses. In addition to the winner Sandflodtrollslända, stone river dragonflies and river girl dragonflies were also present to represent the landscape.

Sand river dragonfly is found in large parts of Halland. Mainly at slowly flowing watercourses with sandy bottoms.
The Troll Dragonfly Association appoints landscape trolls to draw attention to and disseminate information for the benefit of dragonflies.
