Charlotte Kalla left cross-country skiing.
Now the icon is back – and gets a new role within the Swedish national team.
– It sounded exciting, he says.
There is probably no one who thinks otherwise than that Charlotte Kalla is one of Sweden’s best cross-country skiers of all time. She has won basically everything that can be won, and tops the Swedish list of most Olympic medals.
Gets a new role in the national team
But all good has an end. Last winter, Charlotte Kalla announced, after a couple of heavier years, that she will end her elite venture after the season. Since the departure, there has been wild speculation about what the Swede would do in the future.
In the end, it was clear that Charlotte Kalla does just like Nils van der Poel, and becomes an ambassador for Skistar. Then it also became clear that the Swede will have a role within the national team – and now it has been specified.
The icon will help promising juniors in their venture into cross-country skiing.
“It sounded exciting”
There she will act as a helping hand to the junior national team coach Andreas Domeij.
“This spring, I had the chance to hear Andreas’ training philosophy and was able to confirm what I really knew – that he is a wise coach. Andreas had ideas on how I could strengthen his thoughts and contribute my experience. It sounded exciting so the choice to find time for me to be with a few days was easy “, she says in a press release.
Cold continues:
Andreas’ commitment is a great asset and I believe that his energy can inspire the active to bring about a good whole in their investments. The idea is that I will participate in the training sessions at the planned camps and in connection with the first camp I will also give an inspirational lecture ”.
