Malala has long fought for girls’ right to education and continued even after a brutal attempted murder. She sees a connection to Greta Thunberg’s climate struggle. During the demonstration, Malala recounted how her education in Pakistan was interrupted when a flood closed her and many other schools in the area.
“Because of climate-related events, millions of girls are losing access to schools,” Yousafzai said.
“Any girl can change the world, if she gets the right tools,” said Greta Thunberg.
