Frida Karlsson and William Poromaa are Swedish skiing’s most talked about couple.
Now both are teaming up in a completely new mission off the ski slopes.
– It can help us improve a piece of our puzzle, Frida and William say in an official statement.

After the giants Charlotte Kalla and Therese Johaugs farewell to the skiing world, there is a big hole to fill in the absolute world elite. Frida Karlsson is one of the favorites to take over the throne now.

Now the skiing couple is reunited again when Frida and William reveal a completely new mission alongside skiing. The couple have become ambassadors for the furniture company Mio and sowed big poster names in a brand new commercial that has been released, see it below.
– We became interested when we understood that Mio was looking for a deeper collaboration, where it is about more than just exposure. Helping to build knowledge about sleep and how we can optimize it – together with an ergonomist and sleep expert – feels very right. It can help us improve a piece of our puzzle to develop. At the same time, we can contribute with our knowledge and experience regarding training, nutrition and good recovery. It felt right from the start. Mio is a large company with a real family feel. There is no doubt that the investment made in sleep will be made in full. And that’s exactly how we work!, Frida and William say in an official press release.

Tough everyday life

Afterwards, Karlsson and Poromaa open up about their private lives and what the tough everyday life can look like for skiers in the top world class.
– The clock rings at seven in the morning and then we eat fruit. It can be porridge, sandwiches and a glass of juice. After that a little prehab (prevention to avoid injuries) before we roll off for three hours of skating on the roller rink, says the couple.
– About 50 kilometers later we have lunch, something that can be fixed fairly quickly. There are often leftovers from yesterday’s dinner. Then there is usually some time to talk to a coach, have a sponsor meeting and maybe do an interview.

Then, sleep is extremely important for a skier’s performance, and both Frida and William attach great importance to sleep in order to succeed in their careers.
– When we train the most, we often sleep for half an hour in the middle of the day to be able to complete the second training session of the day as well as the first. But if we are to perform, which is what we want every day, we need about 8-9 hours of sleep at night. We know how important sleep is. It is immediately visible in the results in both training and competition if we change the number of hours of sleep. When we spend as much time as we do, we want to invest optimally all the way, on all parts, for the best possible result, says the Swedish cross-country skiing couple.
