Here Eva Rydberg is surprised by children and grandchildren in Which life

“A natural thing in our family” • Eva in tears – see the secret tribute show

In “What a Life!” it has been Eva Rydberg’s turn to be praised. Among childhood friends and good industry colleagues, her family also appears at the Oscar Theater to pay tribute to the theater queen. Husband Tony Johansson, daughter Birgitta Rydberg and son Kalle Rydberg settle down on the sofa on stage.

The children tell how they more or less grew up in the theatre. There was never any talk of a preschool.

And it was there that their dreams of following in their mother’s footsteps were created.

– I’ve probably always wanted to be on stage and perform. My dreams were nurtured there, says Kalle.

– It kind of came naturally, you ran all the shows at home then, says Birgitta.

“It became a natural thing in our family”

But it is not only Birgitta and Kalle who have followed in Eva’s footsteps. So do the grandchildren Vera and Astrid, who now also dedicate themselves to being on stage.

– It became a natural thing in our family, I think, that you end up there, says Birgitta.

– You kind of have no choice, you can’t do anything else, adds Kalle.

The presenter Renée Nyberg wonders if it was Eva who recommended them to do as she did.

– I didn’t, they just wanted to make money, she jokes.

Family surprise show

The children also take the opportunity, like the others on site, to pay tribute to their mother.

– Mother and father are the best thing there is, spending time with the family. It’s wonderful. And mother and father are such incredibly inspiring people with the joy of life and creativity and all the projects that are always underway, says Birgitta.

But the biggest celebration is when the son-in-law and grandchildren Astrid and Vera also show up and join together in a surprise show for Eva. A show that results in a noticeably moved and teary-eyed Eva.
