Here, Donald Trump is met with boos – and goes on the counterattack

Donald Trump did not get a warm reception when he spoke at the Libertarian Party convention last night.
He was met with boos and abuse – and bit back with a sneer at the party’s low numbers.
– Keep counting your three percent every four years then, he said.

The US presidential election is expected to be a thriller, with small margins that will decide.

The Libertarian Party collected three percent of the electoral votes in 2020 – and those votes could be important for Joe Biden and Donald Trump to recruit.

That’s why Donald Trump spoke at the party’s convention in Washington DC last night – but it was not to an easily flirted audience.

Met by boos

The Republican candidate was met with boos and boos from the audience during his speech.

In an attempt to win over the crowd to his side, Trump referred to the four impeachments against him and said he has become more of a libertarian now, but it failed.

– Maybe you don’t want to win? Then keep counting your three percent every four years, he then replied, seemingly irritated.

Want to release the drug site’s founder

It was only when Trump promised that he would release lifer Ross Ulbricht – who founded the website Silk Road that facilitated the trafficking of cocaine, heroin and LSD, among other things – that he won over parts of the audience.

– We will make sure to get him home, Trump said.

Much of the libertarians’ criticism of Trump is otherwise based on the fact that the budget deficit is still at a high level, and that he is considered to have given way to pharmaceutical companies during the pandemic.
