Here are the best routes to choose this Christmas

Many people go by car to get to various Christmas celebrations in other cities. Storm Pia has also made the road conditions worse and in several places in the country the slippage is severe. SMHI previously stated that motorists can expect “difficult weather” this Christmas.

Trafikverket’s press manager Bengt Olsson tells in an interview in TV4 News morning that motorists should not be discouraged from roads with a lot of traffic. Instead of choosing smaller roads, you should choose large roads even if these are congested. Olsson lists some examples of roads that are good.

Choose busy roads

– These roads are able to swallow a lot more cars than the smaller roads.

It is the entire E4, E45, route 70 and E16 that Bengt Olsson recommends.

He says that things around Norrköping are noisy. There has been strong wind in combination with slush snow.

– It is the absolute worst combination, Olsson tells Nyhetsmorgon.

In southern Småland, many trees have fallen, and some railway lines are closed.
