Comes from Halmstad
Per Gessle comes from the pearl of the west coast, Halmstad. In terms of sports, there is a large football team in the coastal city, Halmstads BK. HBK plays its home matches at the charming sports complex Örjans Vall.

Even though Halmstads BK is the city’s big football team, it is not the team Per Gessle chose as his favorite team. Gessle has IS Halmia as his favorite football team. IS Halmia resides in division 3 and has a good distance to elite football and the fine room in Sweden. In an Instagram post, Gessle shows off her scarf with the Halmia emblem.
Proud history
Although Halmia is in the lower divisions, they can take comfort in the fact that they have such a profiled and dedicated supporter as Per Gessle, but they can also be proud of their long history. Halmia has accumulated a total of 11 Allsvenskan seasons and has at best finished in 7th place. The last time Halmia played in the Allsvenskan was 1979.
A funny detail in Halmia’s shirts is the text “Gessle loves Halmia” which partly shows Gessle’s love for the club but also suggests that he sponsors the club in one way or another.
