Here are all Oscar winners

Both Madison and director Sean Baker paid tribute to sex workers in their thanks. Baker also held a fire speech to pay attention to cinema deaths:

The “wicked” stars started

Adrien Brody became the winner of the best male lead role, for the “brutalist”. He won his first Oscar in 2003 when he portrayed another Holocaust survivor, in Roman Polanski’s “Pianist”.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo opened the 97th Oscars gala with a double song number. First with “Somewhere over the Rainbow” from “The Magician from Oz” (1939) and then “Defying Gravity” from “Wicked”.

Despite a serious introduction with reference to the tense world situation and the fires in Los Angeles, host Conan O’Brien managed to quickly lighten the atmosphere in the Dolby Theater.

Straughan about the Pope: “Tasteful”

Kieran Culkin got the first statue of the evening for best male supporting role in “A Real Pain”. An unexpected win – Guy Pearce was favorite for “brutalist”.

Zoë Saldaña could barely hold tears back when she received her Oscar for best female support in “Emilia Pérez”. She is the first American of Dominican origin to win a figurine.

I am the first and I know I will not be the last, she said.

Swedish disappointment

Peter Straughan won the award for best script by model for the “Konklaven” – which is about voting a new pope – and was asked if it felt surreal that the real pope’s failing health may lead to the film’s history becoming a reality.

“It feels a bit uncomfortable to raise the Pope’s health problems in such a festive atmosphere, but we wish him well and hope he will recover soon,” Straughan told Entertainment Weekly.

However, there was no Oscar for the big Swedish jump director Magnus von Horn, whose Danish film “The Girl with Nålen” was nominated in the best international film. Neither did the Swedish -produced documentary “Black Box Diaries”, which was nominated in the category Best Long Documentary, received award.
