Several survivors have been dug out of the rubble in Turkey – 260 hours after they were buried alive. After ten days, even a cow could be saved. The cow, named Bircan, could be lifted out with support from excavators.
– I am reunited with my cow, I am very happy today, says the owner.
In total, nearly 44,000 people have been confirmed dead after the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, according to al-Jazeera’s figures, just over 38,000 of them in Turkey. According to various estimates, the final figure is feared to be around 100,000 dead.
