With just under fifteen minutes to play, Hercules took the lead for the first time. After a cross by Dirk Homoet, Tim Pieters scored the 2-1. Shortly afterwards, HSC’21 had the opportunity to equalize via a penalty kick. Goalkeeper Pepijn Vonk of the Utrecht team made a good save and it remained 2-1.
