Warhammer 40,000 is a franchise from the tabletop game producer Games Workshop, which has now grown significantly through video games and animated films. It is set in the dark future of the 41st millennium, where the Empire of Mankind is waging an endless, grisly war against a variety of enemies. Confirmation from Cavill and the producers is coming not a second too soon: As we have already reported, an approach for the W40K series had to be found by the end of the year: otherwise the deal between Amazon and Games Workshop would have collapsed, thus destroying the previous work on the project.
When is the sci-fi series coming to the Warhammer 40,000 universe?
As Cavill suggests in his Instagram post, it’s for concrete information is still too early. Accordingly, one can only speculate about a start date for the series.
Not only does it need a showrunner, a finished script and a full cast before release, the notoriously busy Cavill also needs to clear his schedule, franchise fan or not. And then the actual filming of the series follows, which could be followed by longer post-production with a view to opulent sci-fi locations.
