Although last year it briefly looked as if Henry Cavill would return to the big screen as Superman, it is now clear that a new Man of Steel awaits us in cinemas in 2025. Cavill has also been out of The Witcher since this year. So the actor has his lost two most famous roles.

However, Cavill doesn’t seem too nervous. Last but not least, he has been associated with a major franchise launch for around a year: under the Amazon umbrella new fantasy universe based on the popular tabletop game Warhammer 40,000. Now the plans are becoming concrete.

As the company Games Workshop, the home of Warhammer 40,000, revealed on its official website, the contracts are with Amazon in dry towels. Twelve months after the initial announcement, the project has the green light from all sides and can now enter the development phase with several screenwriters.

The deal gives Amazon the exclusive rights to the film adaptation of Warhammer 40,000, both in the film and in the series. Games Workshop hopes this will attract more attention for its own brand. Cavill and Co. are intended to reach target groups that have previously had no contact with the game.
