After leaving The Witcher, Henry Cavill fans can look forward to an exciting cinema appearance by the actor. In the new war film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare by cult director Guy Ritchie, he becomes part of a secret combat unit in World War II.
Now the star has one first picture of the film shared, which in terms of content (and with the rather unwieldy title) is reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino’s masterpiece Inglourious Basterds. Til Schweiger also plays along. The German star did not make it to the first picture.

The upcoming Guy Ritchie movie is based on the true non-fiction story by Damien Lewis. It’s about one secret combat unit in World War II, founded by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond author Ian Fleming to fight Nazis. The term Black Ops unit, as we know it today, was derived from this secret force.
It remains to be seen how much Ritchie’s upcoming work actually has in common with Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. Til Schweiger, who also plays alongside stars like Eiza González, could only play a small role again. At least he didn’t make it onto Henry Cavill’s picture.
When will Guy Ritchie’s new war film be in German cinemas?
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare does not yet have a specific launch date. We expect not before 2024 with a publication. Before the war film, Guy Ritchie’s new action film The Covenant with Jake Gyllenhaal will be released.
